We were delighted to take part in Doors Open Days Edinburgh 2026, showcasing the creativity of our participants and celebrating some of the incredible places and stories that make Edinburgh such a special city.
Over the weekend, St Michaelโs Parish Church in Slateford opened its doors to the public as part of Doors Open Days, with artwork from three of our Edinburgh programmes on display; CashBack to The Future, Impactful Parents and Craft Cafรฉ.
It was a fantastic opportunity to share the creativity, skills and achievements of our participants with visitors, while giving people the chance to learn more about the work we do across Edinburgh.
Our young people also played a part in the wider Doors Open Days experience, creating a map highlighting some of the amazing venues taking part across Edinburgh. The map was available for visitors to pick up at St Michaelโs, encouraging people to explore more of the city and discover the many buildings and spaces opening their doors.
We were also delighted to be involved in the Doors Open Days press launch at Camera Obscura, alongside The Cockburn Association, Invisible Cities and other partners involved in making the festival happen.
It was brilliant to come together with organisations who share a passion for celebrating Edinburghโs heritage, communities, creativity and stories.
A big thank you to The Cockburn Association and the Doors Open Days team for including Impact Arts in this yearโs programme, and to everyone who visited St Michaelโs over the weekend.
Most importantly, thank you to the participants and young people whose creativity made our contribution possible. It was fantastic to see their work displayed and appreciated by members of the public.
Weโre proud to have been part of Doors Open Days Edinburgh 2026 and to have helped shine a light on the creativity happening across our programmes.

Itโs been 30 years since Impact Arts was founded. Over those years, many individuals have found something here to take away with them in to the future.
We interviewed some of our past participants on how Impact Arts has impacted them, and we would love to share their stories with you.
We are celebrating the creative achievements of our Craft Cafe Edinburgh members. The Spring exhibition features art made between May 2022 and February 2023 in the three Viewpoint care homes in Edinburgh.

Artwork from Lennox House Care Home (above)
The work on display celebrates the creative achievements of residents from St. Raphael’s Care Home, Marian House Care Home, and Lennox House Care Home, who have attended Craft Cafe. The collection demonstrates a wide range of themes, interests, styles, and techniques – and aims to highlight the uniqueness of each personโs creative expression.

It is an honour to be a part of people’s creative journeys; it is a pleasure to listen to the stories of our members and support them to play and experiment with art. Last year saw the return of friends and family to our Craft Cafes. We have sadly said goodbye to our lovely members at Lennox, following the closure of this care home in December 2022. However, we look forward to welcoming Viewpoint tenants to Craft Cafรฉ again for the first time since 2020.
