Sewing, candle-making and sharing skills in Govan

Fri 16th December 2016

Our Craft Cafe in Govan have been making good use of their sewing skills, producing bags, cushion covers and aprons from a selection of scrap fabric. Those with more experience on machines were also delighted to pass on their skills on to other members of the group.

We also recently visited Govan-based Shearer Candles, who have been making candles for over a century. Members were kindly offered a guided tour and the opportunity to pour their own candles. Back at the Centre in Elder Park, the group used coloured dyes and scents to produce their own candles in a variety of moulds and holders – creating unique festive objects just in time for Christmas!
