The Young Gallery, Scotland’s first gallery dedicated to showcasing the artwork of children, is launching their new exhibition ‘Rip it up’ on Friday the 5rd of October.
Working from magazines and their own photographs, 3rd year pupils from Whitehill Secondary School ripped, cut, glued, painted and drew to create a series of new images. By considering composition, shape and colour they combined mediums and layered imagery to create something truly original.
Liz Shepherd, Artist and Programme Coordinator said:
‘Working with the Whitehill Secondary School pupils was brilliant – they were so enthusiastic! They had a great eye for selecting materials and combining them to produce something vibrant and unexpected.’
All artwork displayed in the Gallery is available to buy and visitors can expect an energetic exhibition and the chance to pick up a piece by young, talented, local artists.
