Over 100 Primary 5s deck Springburn Park in rainbow of painted school flags!

Over 100 P5s from four Glasgow schools came together this morning to deck Springburn Park in a rainbow of painted school flags, created as part of our Young Gallery project!

The children worked with our artists Elina Bry and Susie Cassidy to create collaborative artworks about diversity and community – what makes us different and what brings us together. The children met, exhibited their flags, did demonstrations and came together for a mass aerobic workout to the tune of Eye of the Tiger!

Here’s a short film from today about Festival in the Park and the power art has in bringing children together to tackle complex issues:

A massive well done to P5s from St. Denis’ Primary, St. Martha’s Primary, Quarrybrae Primary and St. Ninian’s Primary Schools for their incredible work! Thanks also to Cllr. Graham Campbell for Springburn/Robroyston who made it along as well.

The project was possible thanks to funding from the schools, the Corra Foundation, YouthLink Scotland and the Co-op Community Fund.
