Ocean of mosaic fish unveiled by Craft Cafe Govan artists!

Fri 07th April 2017

Last week, Impact Arts’ Craft Cafe Govan unveiled an exhibition of colourful and lovingly-crafted mosaic fish they have been working on over the past months.

The exhibition, entitled Art & Sole, took place below the deck of the Tall Ship at the Clydeside. It was an appropriate venue for older artists whose lives have been inextricably linked with the Clyde, whether through industry or otherwise.

The exhibition, which will run at the Tall Ship until April 16th, was officially opened by guest Chris Stephens, MP for Glasgow South West, who remarked upon the importance of creativity at all stages of life and the need for projects like the Craft Cafe.

It was also an opportunity to premiere a brand new short film about the Craft Cafe, which underlines the importance it has to its members. You can view the video here on YouTube.

Also highlighted at the exhibition were stories of the members’ time at the Craft Cafe and what it means to them.

Children also have the opportunity to make their own funky fish in a similar style. These are free drop-in sessions between 12pm and 3pm until Thursday 13th April 2017.
