Co-ordinating Tutor, Make it Your Own, Edinburgh

Make it Your Own is a creative programme run by Impact Arts to help people sustain their tenancies. We are delighted to be bringing Make it Your Own to Edinburgh for the first time; thanks to funding from the Life Changes Trust's Home and Belonging programme, we will work with 24 care-experienced young people in the next year.

We are looking for a Co-ordinating Tutor for this project who will deliver one-to-one and group workshops on interior design, decorating and making items for the home. The role will also involve recruiting eligible young people, liaising with key partners and referral agencies, home visits, shopping trips, evaluation and impact measurement, and progressions support for participants.

 

Job title: Co-ordinating Tutor
Salary: £23,000 per annum
Based at: TBC - Edinburgh city centre
Travel: From time to time travel may be required for home visits and partner visits across Edinburgh, and to Impact Arts other offices in Ayrshire/Glasgow for monthly team meetings.
Reporting to: Rachel McEwen, Programme Manager
Duration of contract: 8 months, August 2019 to March 2020 with one month probationary period (NB: This post may be extended until March 2022 subject to funding)
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week over 5 days
Qualifications & Experience:

  • Educated to degree level in interior design/visual/applied art.
  • Experience in working with young people, particular those with care experience
  • Experience in co-ordination and partnership development

Interviews: Expected Thursday 4th July 2019 and Friday 5th July 2019
Expected Start Date: August 2019
