Art Therapist

Job title: Art Therapist

Bank Staff with the potential for part time hours

Rate of Pay: Art Therapy Session:

PAYE – starting from £54.44 per session (dependent on number of years’ experience)

Each session is made up of 1 hour art therapy delivery and 1 hour prep/ write up.

Non-contact rate of pay

PAYE - £25/ hour

Non-contact time includes meetings/ 1 supervision meeting per month/ regular team meetings every 4 weeks/ group supervision every 6 weeks

All Art Therapists will be employees and paid on a PAYE basis due to IR35 legislation

Holiday pay will be paid on a pro rata basis

Based at: Various venues across Glasgow, including our regional office base and local schools

Travel: If travelling between venues to deliver sessions on the same day, a travel contribution will be paid at £5/day.

Reporting to: Programme Manager

Duration of contract: Immediate work available until 31st March 2022, although opportunities are likely to continue beyond this period

Working Hours: Exact working hours for each therapist will depend on availability. However sessions will usually take place between the core hours of Monday – Friday, 8.30am-5.30pm

Essentials:

  • Degree in Visual/Applied Art
  • Professional qualification in Art Therapy
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience of delivering 1:1 Art Therapy and/or group therapy
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Membership of, or willingness to join, the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG)

Desirable:

  • Membership of the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT) and knowledge of BAAT Code of Ethics
  • Professional Qualification in Dyadic Therapy
  • Experience in delivering creative activity in diverse community settings
  • Qualification/experience in Community Arts/Community Learning and Development

Expected Start Date: ASAP in January 2022
