Become a Trustee!

tyg

Impact Arts is seeking new talent to strengthen its Board.

For 22 years, the charity has supported people and communities, using arts and creativity to improve lives across Scotland. We are now recruiting trustees who are interested in enhancing the lives of children, young people, and older people in Scotland.

In its last financial year, the charity worked with over 4000 people in Scotland in arts related activity. Supporting over 400 young people develop their employability skills, working with over 200 isolated older people and 298 children under 12, the charity is funded by a range of Scottish and UK partner organisations and community fundraising activities.

Yvonne Finlayson joined our Board in 2012:

“I had previous trustee experience and wanted to use my business development skills in a volunteering capacity, to work alongside the management team whilst helping set the future direction of the organisation.

“What I admire about the organisation is the focus on creativity and how it connects with our participants, regardless of age, location or ability: seeing the exhibitions and performances at the end of our collective work and the impact on personal and social confidence is often remarkable. For example, our recent exhibition of young artists from 2 schools in Glasgow at The Young Gallery, demonstrated the creative ability of children, unleashing their talent, building confidence and connecting the schools to a broader Glasgow community. If you haven’t visited the gallery, do!

“Being a trustee is a thoroughly rewarding experience, and now we are at a stage in our development where we want to bring a fresh perspective and build on the success of the organisation to date.”

Opportunities have arisen for passionate trustees with backgrounds in the arts, employability, finance and accountancy.

The board is very hands on and the role of trustee requires a strong personal commitment. Read more about joining the Board or contact Marcella Boyle at Impact Arts on 0141 575 3001.
