Sewing, candle-making and sharing skills in Govan

Our Craft Cafe in Govan have been making good use of their sewing skills, producing bags, cushion covers and aprons from a selection of scrap fabric. Those with more experience on machines were also delighted to pass on their skills on to other members of the group.

We also recently visited Govan-based Shearer Candles, who have been making candles for over a century. Members were kindly offered a guided tour and the opportunity to pour their own candles. Back at the Centre in Elder Park, the group used coloured dyes and scents to produce their own candles in a variety of moulds and holders - creating unique festive objects just in time for Christmas!
