New Exhibition at the Young Gallery – ‘Dancing Lines and Drawing Sounds’

Tue 04th December 2012

The Young Gallery, Scotland’s first gallery dedicated to showcasing children’s art work, is proud to present its new exhibition ‘Dancing Lines and Drawing Sounds’ by primary two pupils at Haghill Primary. The pupils made their paintbrushes dance to create abstract art for this new exhibition.

Over the course of 8 workshops the class listened to range of music from Kraftwerk to Ornette Coleman, which inspired a series of paintings, drawings and experiments with various media.

From Damien Hirst’s ‘spin paintings’ to Kandinsky’s music inspired works, the pupils looked at many artists for ideas before letting loose their own creativity with unpredictable results.

The Launch takes place 10am-11am on the 7th of December and the Gallery is open Tuesday to Saturday 12pm-5pm. This exhibition will run until the 21st December.
