The Urban Green team have been working with children from St Maria Goretti Primary School. They have been busy designing and making mosaic bugs for the community garden which will be on display as part of our Enchanted Garden celebration in March! More updates on that soon!
In other news, Cranhill residents are on the move! A group of 17 people, young and old, have come together to form the Ministry of Wild Walks!
Starting at the Seven Lochs Nature Reserve, the Wild Walkers have been getting active and exploring local wildlife while they’re at it. Over the last three weeks, the group have been gaining momentum, adding more mileage and greater ascents to their walks.
So far the group have encountered Highland Cows, foraged for wild sorrel, and discovered sublime lochs in unlikely places. They’ve have shared stories, laughter and a home-made lunches. The group have reported improved sleep, healthy weight-loss, bigger appetites, clearer heads, and have even made new pals along the way!
When our youngest walker took a tumble in the mud this week, she wiped the muck across her cheeks, grinned and said “this is absolutely brilliant!”.
