Meet the CashBack team: Rachel Rostock. actor & performer

Mon 18th June 2018

Just 15 days until CashBack to the Future kicks off! We’re putting the spotlight on another of our creative team who will be delivering these workshops to young people aged 12-19 for four weeks this summer.

Rachel Rostock is an actor, musician, performer with significant experience of acting, directing and scriptwork, and a number of stage and screen roles under her belt. A member of our artist team in Ayrshire last year, we’re delighted to have Rachel back delivering performance workshops once again. We spoke tot Rachel about what young people can expect from the free performance workshops she’ll be running.

We still have spaces for young people to sign up to CashBack. The workshops are free and will be taking place in Ayrshire, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Renfrewshire this summer. Find out more and sign up/refer online here.

How was your experience working on CashBack to the Future in Ayrshire last year?

Great! We had a lot of fun exploring different genres of performance,
including outdoor theatre and acting for screen. It was great having the chance to take workshops outside, spending our day on the beach, while discussing ideas for a musical and filming a music video.

What will be your role this year?

I’ll be Performance tutor once again. Young people will have the opportunity to sample different genres of
performance – such as theatre acting, comedy, creative movement and acting for
film. They will be encouraged to make suggestions, and if there is anything in
particular they want to try out then we will make it happen!

How would you encourage young people to sign up? What can young people get out of working with the CashBack artists?

The young people from last year became a close group, and stayed in touch outwith the project. So it’s an opportunity to learn new skills and have fun – but also to meet new friends.

Ayrshire’s CashBack workshops will run in Irvine and Kilmarnock from July 3rd until July 27th 2018. Be part of it.
