Hannah, aged 20, has been volunteering with Impact Arts for the last month at Factory 45. Hannah is in her third year studying International Fashion Branding at Glasgow Caledonian
University.
So what does Hannah think about volunteering with Impact Arts? Read her blog below:
“I love working in Factory 45 and
meeting the different designers as they drop by with exciting new collections.
I am an avid user of social media myself, so I enjoy uploading pictures of the
new stock and promoting each designer. I’m currently working on blog posts for
the designers and it is exciting for me to hear about their new stock and
inspirations before other people!
Through my volunteering experience, I hope
to make connections with people in the fashion industry and gain a better
understanding of how a third sector organisation works.
After graduating, I’m hoping to have a job in
buying or merchandising, so Factory 45 is the perfect platform for me to gain
an understanding of how the designers and stock are found, designer agreements
are made and stock is eventually displayed and sold.
I would recommend
volunteering at Factory 45 to anyone looking for a job in the fashion industry
as it is great hands on experience, not to mention the staff are lovely to work
with!”
You can pop in to Factory 45, (45 High Street, Glasgow, G1 1LX) if you are interested in finding out more about the shop or volunteering opportunities!
