It’s Impact Arts official 18th Birthday today! Scotland’s most creative community arts organisation was born on the 08.08.1994. Back then, founder Susan Aktemel conceived the idea of a community arts organisation that would use the arts to transform lives and promptly set about running it from her living room!
Now based in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Ayrshire and the Borders, the organisation has stayed true to its original aim to use the arts to enable people of all ages to make positive and lasting change in their lives.
Our first project was delivering Japanese lantern making workshops to children and young people in Pollock, Glasgow and we’ve never looked back! We’ve worked with literally thousands of people on hundreds of projects across Scotland.
We would like to thank all of our partners and funders for their support over the years – keep your eyes peeled for an invite to our special birthday celebrations taking place later in the year!
