Impact Arts Flagship Programme Fab Pad is Re-launching in Glasgow in September!

Mon 20th August 2012

Fab Pad, one of Impact Arts longest running programmes is re-launching in Glasgow* in September. Our creative programme will continue to work with young people to reduce youth homelessness and youth unemployment through an innovative interior design process. We are looking to work with care leavers aged between 16 and 21 at the point of gaining a new tenancy. Over the course of 16 weeks, participants will attend weekly workshops and work closely with an interior designer to develop the skills to transform their house into a home. We will also support participants in progressions to education, training and employment.

An independent Social Return on Investment report commissioned by Impact Arts suggests that for every £1 invested in Fab Pad there is a social return on investment of £8.38. By creating a stable base, an average of 80% of participants sustain their tenancies for at least 6 months, allowing them to progress onto positive destinations in other aspects of their lives.

Materials, equipment, lunches and travel expenses are provided, as well as an individual budget of £100.

Fab Pad in Govan will be launching on Tuesday the 18th of September and will run for 14 weeks. We will continue to take referrals throughout the programme for anyone that wants to join.

To refer yourself or a client to the programme please contact Adele Swinfen on 0141 575 3001 or [email protected].

*Fab Pad criteria in other areas will remain the same. Please see our Fab Pad projects page for more information.
