Illustrative Tiling

Taking an ordinary white ceramic tile and creating the extraordinary. Blank white ceramic tiles were transformed into a connecting abstract, collaborative piece.
The inspiration given to the young people was to illustrate an emotion, a thought, what comes to mind for them and what things they may associate with themselves.
A personal explorative journey creating a captivating group piece, considering the tile surface and shape, it could be smashed, put back together, it could be layered to give a sculptural aspect.
The bold colourful, graphic combination of the tiles together, creates a mindful journey of the young peoples thoughts and interests.
