Impact Arts is excited to announce that we are
launching an eBay shop! The online shopwill retail items made for the Eco-chic
Boutique by young designers on our Creative Youth Unemployment
Programme, Creative Pathways.
Creative Pathways, a creative approach
to youth employment, is an opportunity for young people aged 16-19 to access
creative arts training as a viable career opportunity. Young people who are
currently not involved in education, employment or training choose from two
paths, Eco-chic Fashion Freak (sustainable fashion design) or Home (furniture
design and manufacturing) and learn essential technical skills associated with
their chosen programme. Once they graduate from the course they are supported to
pursue an occupation using their new found creative talents.
Eco-chic Boutique, Impact Arts’ flagship
retail space operates as a social enterprise, retailing refurbished and upcycled
clothing, furniture and interior accessories made by young people on the Creative Pathways programme
alongside ranges by independent Scottish designers. The Boutique offers a
creative and innovative approach to combating the challenges of youth
unemployment, and issues around recycling, regeneration and providing
opportunities for Scottish talent.
The online shop (called
‘impactartsprojects’ ) will retail an eclectic mix of products such as cool
stags heads, funky bow ties and classic vintage pieces. Buying from the
Eco-chic Boutique online and in store will help support the young designers and
enable Impact Arts to continue working to reduce youth unemployment across
Scotland.

Carr, Manager of the Eco-chic Boutique said:
‘We
are thrilled to be launching our first e-commerce venture on eBay with the
support of Mission Fish. The Boutique provides young people with the
opportunity to gain valuable skills and retail experience to prepare them for
the world of work. Selling on eBay will allow our young designers to develop
their skills even further and experience online retail and marketing which will
be an added bonus on their CV’s. Its also opens up the market for us: from humble
beginnings as charity shop in Glasgow we will now be able to sell Eco-chic
Boutique items all over the world!’
