This week the team had the pleasure of meeting Minister for Children and Young People, Aileen Campbell, at the launch of the new Young Gallery Exhibition ‘Exploring the Senses’. Aileen was hugely impressed at the work displayed at the gallery and said:
“I’m delighted to open
this exhibition at The Young Gallery and to celebrate the work of these budding
young artists. The work is so beautifully displayed – it’s certainly better
than fridge magnets! I’m actually a little jealous as I used to stay in
Dennistoun myself, and would have loved to bring my son Angus into The Young
Gallery – it’s a sheer joy to visit. It’s nice to meet parents and young people
of all ages, it shows that the gallery is really fulfilling the Scottish
Government’s aim to get children into creative activity. Art, music and culture
are brilliant ways for parents to bond with children. Well done to all involved.”
We’ll be uploading some beautiful photos next week but for now here is a wee teaser of what you can see at The Young Gallery till the 29th of November.
In other news the staff team raised £196 from our fundraising last week! Huge well done to everyone who suffered in silence in onsies, and had to suffer in silence as their mouths were full of cake! All for a good cause. Adding that in, we’ve now reached £2869! Please help us reach £3000 by the end of the weekend, just £131 to go!
Check out our progress here!
