Creativity to capture the Castle in Edinburgh!

Mon 21st August 2017

A new block of Creative Pathways, our arts-focused creative programme for young people, is to kick off in just weeks, and we have a stunning venue to offer – Edinburgh Castle!

Thanks to our partnership with Historic Environment Scotland, workshops will run in the Castle one day a week, as participants are inspired by their surroundings to work on digital art and marketing projects, with an overall focus on heritage and tourism.

Our valued partners at Canongate Youth (6 Infirmary Street, Edinburgh City Centre) will be hosting the rest of the weekly workshops, which will give young people the chance to pick up invaluable new creative skills and work with talented artists.

Creative Pathways is aimed at 16-17 year olds who are not in employment, education or training. Those taking part will receive £55 per week, subject to eligibility for Skills Development Scotland stage 2 criteria. Note: there is also limited availability for those aged 18 and over.

As well as working creatively, those taking part will be given one-to-one support on employability skills to give them an improved chance of finding employment, education or training at the conclusion of the 10-week programme.

Interested? Please contact Rosanna Hall on 0779523340 or email rhall@impactarts.co.uk. Please note: all referrals must come through a Skills Development Scotland advisor.

The programme is funded by Skills Development Scotland, Historic Environment Scotland, Inspiring Scotland and Canongate Youth.
