Last Friday, Impact Arts presented their Glasgow Spring Creative Pathways showcase at The Arches. Over one hundred people attended to watch – and in some cases purchase – the artistic results of the hard work put in by the young people participating in the 18 week employability programme.
Some of the products on display included desks refurbished and redesigned by young people in the Product Design programme, handmade necklaces and other accessories, as well as a variety of Valentine’s Day themed gifts and trinkets, such as cards and engraved wooden hearts. There was also a salon booth manned by young people giving free makeovers to attendees.
And its heart, the showcase featured a fashion show displaying a vast array of different looks put together by the young people taking part in the Creative Pathways Style programme. The clothes, including everything from painted t-shirts to tartan skirts to vintage-inspired dresses, were created by young people with a focus on Fashion, whereas the models were styled by participants focusing on Beauty & Photography.
The event was a huge success. A big thank you to The Arches for hosting it, and especially to the young people for creating such beautiful and inspiring work!
