Time flies when you’re having fun! Unbelievably there are only two weeks left go the Creative Pathways programme in Glasgow. The young people have been working hard to get everything ready for their final showcase this month and making the most of the festivities at Glasgow Green for the European Championships.
That showcase event, the culmination of ten weeks of hard work, will take place on Thursday 30th August 2018 at the Clyde Walkway, at the bridge on Dalmarnock Road. The team will be showing off some of the work we have completed during the course and unveiling a sound sculpture they’re making from recycled materials.
This environmentally conscious group decided they wanted to make something to brighten up the walkway and were keen to only use recycled materials. We will be using scrap materials from one of McTaggart Construction’s building sites.
In preparation for the showcase, the group spent a couple of days at Glasgow Green speaking to members of the public about their project. They camped out at the Year of Young People zone of the European Championships festival, and this offered an excellent opportunity to gather thoughts and opinions about the work.
Then it was back in the studio and back to work. The group had the excellent idea of making a stop-motion animation to promote their upcoming showcase. They have been working hard making models, designing the set and familiarising themselves with lighting, cameras and the software required to make their movie. Watch this space – it’s coming to a cinema (blogpost) near you very soon…
The programme is funded by Skills Development Scotland, Our Bright Future, the Big Lottery Fund, Inspiring Scotland, the Gannochy Trust, McTaggart Construction and Link Group.
