A group of young people taking part in our Creative Pathways programme in Barrhead have been busy working through an employability programme with a creative twist. They’ve been concentrating on learning product design and have designed and made a number of products. They’ve also been working on an interior design commission for East Renfrewshire Council Youth Services, making over the Edge in Newton Mearns. They helped plan, design, and create furnishings and decorated two rooms, a sensory room and chill out room.
The group have been busy recently, hosting a showcase for families and friends and managing their own pop-up shop, which raised over £250 in three days!
This progressions on this rolling project have been really positive so far – congratulations to the 10 young people who have completed the project, three of whom are moving onto full time employment, two who are volunteering and five who are moving onto college!
