Craft Café invites residents of Whiteinch to get creative!

Sat 02nd November 2013

Aged 65 or over and living in the
Whiteinch area? Come craft with us! Impact Arts is launching its newest Craft
Café in the Whiteinch Centre.

Craft Café is a free drop in arts programme where over
65’s can take part in arts and crafts activities, enjoy a cup of tea and have a
chat in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Providing a creative solution to
reducing isolation and loneliness amongst older people, it offers members a
safe, social and creative environment where they can learn new skills, renew
social networks and reconnect with their communities.

Members are invited to take part
in a range of creative activities supported by a professional artist, but also
to take control of their own learning with a supply of materials and access to
expertise.

Craft Café prides itself on being a collective
and creative hub at the heart of a community, with members of other Craft
Café’s across the city highlighting what they have enjoyed about getting involved:

A chance to meet new people and
learn new creative skills, it’s no surprise one participant described the Café
as “therapeutic”, with another emphasising that it gives the members something
to look forward to every week:

“I feel absolutely brilliant. It cheers me up
and I look forward to it so much.” – Craft Café participant.

Fancy getting involved? The
Whiteinch Craft Café will Run from 10am – 4pm every Thursday and Impact Arts
invites you to come by for an hour or to even stay the whole day. Get creative
and chatty – the tea’s on us!
