Govan has one of the lowest life expectancies in the UK. Since 2010, Impact Arts has been tackling poverty and loneliness in the area by hosting a creative community for older people.
Craft Café is a free weekly art programme for Govan residents aged 60+. It runs three days a week, 50 weeks a year at Elder Park Library.
40% of our members live in the top 0.5% most deprived streets in Scotland. Some of them have no family or neighbours to call on for company or support. For many, Craft Café is vital. It’s a place where they can stay connected, get support, and find joy through art.
But Craft Café is facing a significant gap in funding. To keep this essential service thriving, we’re taking part in Big Give’s Christmas Challenge — and we urgently need your help.

The Big Give Christmas Challenge is a nation-wide seven-day online match funding campaign.
To help bridge the funding gap for Craft Café, we’re aiming raise £7,500 in public donations between December 2-9.
If we reach our target in that time, it will be doubled to £15,000!
Help us combat loneliness with creativity for older people in Govan.

This group brings joy to later life, gives our members a true sense of belonging, and helps them live independently for longer.
No previous creative experience is required and all materials are provided free of charge. We offer a wide range of activities, including drawing, painting, crafting, knitting, and much more.

Your support will keep this creative community thriving for the older people who rely on it most.
