Next round of Creative Pathways projects starting January 2022 - referrals now open!
Aged 16+ and out of work, education or training? Then this programme is for you! At Impact Arts you can be creative, gain in confidence and earn qualifications. We are not looking for young people with lots of creative skills, and you don’t need to be a whizz at art to join in - an interest in creativity is more than enough.
Over 12 weeks, using the arts as a focus we will support you to feel more confident, overcome some of the hurdles you might be facing and gain some qualifications. You will be supported by an artist, youth worker and opportunities co-ordinator who will provide 1:1 and group support. We will provide you with everything you need to get involved.
Our Creative Pathways programmes are a fun and engaging way for you to increase your employability skills, gain a qualification and work on some fun creative activities. During the course of 12 weeks we will work with you to gain the SQA accredited Employability Award and support you to progress to a positive destination, for example- further training, college or employment. We will ensure that everyone who joins the programme has the materials they need in order to participate, including art packs, SQA paperwork and access to digital resources.
This project is part funded by the UK Government through the UK Community Renewal Fund.
Dates: 11th January – 31st March 2022
Ayrshire - North & East Ayrshire
Glasgow - City Centre
A typical day might look something like this:
10am – 10.30am morning check-in
A chance to say hello to your group mates, check in with the tutors, make a hot drink and discuss what activities will be taking place that day. One day may be creative activities, which our Creative Lead will walk you through, another day may be spent working on employability skills and your SQA qualifications which our Pastoral Tutor will support you with.
10.30am-12.30pm – morning workshop
This is your chance to work through the tasks that have been set for you by our tutors. Sometimes you will work as part of a group and other times you’ll work on your own.
*12.30pm-1.30pm – lunch break*
1.30pm-3pm – afternoon workshop
More time to work on your tasks for the day or maybe your group will take a walk or visit an event or exhibition.
3pm-4pm – Group Catch Up & Tidy up
A chance for you to come together as a group and show off the work you have created, discuss any issues you may have had and see how your group mates are getting on with their work. After that it’s time to tidy up and head home!
Throughout the Week
One-to-one sessions will be planned with our Creative Lead, Youth Worker and Opportunities Coordinator.
