Starting 12th January 2021 - currently open for referrals
Aged 16-26 and out of work, education or training? Then this programme is for you! At Impact Arts you can be creative, gain in confidence and earn qualifications. We are not looking for young people with lots of creative skills, and you don’t need to be a whizz at art to join in - an interest in creativity is more than enough.
Over 11 weeks, using the arts as a focus through a blended approach of online and face-to-face delivery (dependant on Government Guidelines), we will support you to feel more confident, overcome some of the hurdles you might be facing and gain some qualifications. You will be supported by an artist, youth worker and opportunities co-ordinator who will provide 1:1 and group support. We will provide you with everything you need to get involved.
Our Creative Pathways programmes are funded by the National Lottery Community Fund as part of the Our Bright Future programme and are a fun and engaging way for you to increase your employability skills, gain a qualification and work on some fun creative activities. During the course of 11 weeks we will work with you to gain the SQA accredited Employability Award and support you to progress to a positive destination, for example- further training, college or employment. We will ensure that everyone who joins the programme has the materials they need in order to participate, including art packs, SQA paperwork and access to digital resources.
A typical day might look something like this:
10am – 11am Morning check-in
A chance to say hello to your group mates, check in with the tutors and discuss what activities will be taking place that day. One day may be creative activities, which our Creative Lead will walk you through, another day may be spent working on employability skills and your SQA qualifications- both of which our Pastoral Tutor will support you with
11am – 2pm Self-directed activities
This is your chance to work through the tasks that have been set for you by our tutors. You will also have the opportunity to talk to the tutors in a one-to-one setting during this time, as well as spend time with our opportunities coordinator who will support you with your qualification.
2pm-3pm End of Day check-in
A chance for you to come together as a group and show off the work you have created, discuss any issues you may have had and see how your group mates are getting on with their work!
Throughout the Week
One-to-one sessions will be planned with our Creative Lead, Youth Worker and Opportunities Coordinator.
Facebook Live sessions will assist you with your creative projects.
We will be available for support every day between 11am and 2pm if you have any problems or want to chat about your progress.
