Busy Beehive Summer Workshops at the St Enoch Centre

A new rooftop garden and bee colony has been created at the St Enoch Centre and will be open for visits from Wednesday. It was specially designed and installed by Glasgow-based honeybee preservation group Johnny’s Garden.
The group’s ‘revival and survival’ programme, A Hive of Activity, aims to encourage more bee colonies in urban settings.
Impact Arts will be running a series of ecology themed drop in workshops at the St Enoch Centre this summer to promote urban bee keeping to children. The workshops will be open to children up to age 12.
The children will help create the body of a large scale beehive from willow and populate it with busy bees over the summer programme. Children will learn about urban bee-keeping and the importance of bees in our sensitive eco system.
Summer Arts Workshops will take place on Friday 12th, 19th, 26th July and 2nd August between 10am-4pm beside Hamleys on level two . Children and their parents/guardians are welcome to drop in between these times.
