2.6 Challenge – Join Impact Arts and change lives

Thu 23rd April 2020

Impact Arts are taking part in the 2.6 Challenge, the nationwide fundraising campaign to help save the UK’s charities!

Impact Arts delivers collaboratively with children, young
people and communities. Working predominantly with vulnerable groups and we have a clear mission: to tackle inequalities in
Scotland through Creative Engagement. However, all the groups we work with are currently facing unprecedented changes in their
lives as a result of the COVID 19 pandemic. Many of our projects have had to stop altogether until lock down is lifted and for other projects we
have been able to adapt our services, by keeping in touch with participants remotely. Helping to support and keep them
engaged and creatively active from afar.

The threat that isolation and loneliness has on the
health and wellbeing of our members – our neighbours, friends and family – is
very real, and need we your help to continue to engage with our members.

You can fundraise for us by taking part in an activity based around the numbers 2.6 or 26 – this could be anything from running for 26 minutes, reading 26 books, or walking 2.6 miles. There are limitless creative ways to get involved with the challenge, and we can’t wait to see what you come up with!

The challenge launches on Sunday 26th April – what should have been the date of the 40th London Marathon, but will still run in the days following.

Each year the marathon raises £66.4 million, but this year things are little different and unfortunately, the marathon has had to be postponed until October. So instead, the organisers of the London Marathon have come together to save the UK’s charities by launching the 2.6 challenge.

If you’re not able to get out your house or flat, its not a problem – you can do the 2.6 challenge from inside your home too! There are no rules, apart from the Government guidelines on how to exercise safely during this time. Be as creative as you like – the main thing is to have fun and donate whatever you can.

Here are some creative ideas:

  • Climb the stairs 26 times
  • Do 26 outfit changes in a day
  • Write 26 shorts stories
