It’s back – and it’s bigger! Impact Arts welcomes the participants in this year’s Creative Pathways. The programme is up and running in both Glasgow and North Ayrshire and soon to be joined by our group in East Ayrshire too.
Whilst the team in North Ayrshire are just finished their induction week, our Glasgow group have thrown themselves into the programme with gusto, enjoying a week of taster activities before splitting into their separate programmes. With a choice between Home, Eco-Chic and Challenge Us, the young people have moved onto their preferred activity, which they will specialise in until June. They have also been outward-bound at Castle Semple, learning raft-building skills and doing a series of team building exercises. They still have gorge-walking to navigate, but in the meantime they have embarked on their first projects which include the Challenge Us team making and installing a memorial for Strathclyde Fire and Rescue, designed by our own James Gow in consultation with local school children, to commemorate the Cheapside fire disaster of 1960 which claimed the lives of 19 Fire Fighters. It’s a fantastic project and we look forward to seeing the fruits of their labour!
We’ll keep you up to date with their progress as the programme continues.
