Impact Arts delivers a range of arts based programmes for young people. Our projects take a creative and enterprising approach to guiding young people into positive engagement and the world of employment. As well as our core programmes we also work closely with organisations to design projects in public art, community consultation, employability and arts activities.
Through our work with young people we identified that many of the young people have literacy difficulties and as a result have poor self esteem and demonstrate little interest in reading – for pleasure or for work/learning purposes.
We are committed to tackling this issue by encouraging young people to actively and creatively engage with the written word and we fully expect this to result in improved literacy skills and confidence in their own ability.
To help us achieve this we are looking to recruit an experienced, professional and talented Writer in Residence to work regularly with our young people in Glasgow within several of our key projects. Experience in facilitating group workshops, including experience of working with vulnerable young people is essential.
