Creative Pathways 2009

Our highly successful 2009 programme focused on engaging young people, sustaining positive engagement, aspiration and developing the skills they require to progress on to further training or employment.

The participants worked for five months across our three core creative programmes, Eco-Chic Fashion Freak, Home and Challenge Us. They attended on a full –time basis to develop their skills within their chosen programme in addition to learning key skills that are transferable into any work setting. These involved meeting deadlines, working to clients requirements, finding creative solutions and team working.

Creative Pathways 2009

The young people attended a total of 204 full day workshops in music, visual arts, photography, digital media (including animation) and drama.

The programme ended with an exciting final showcase event at St Andrew’s in the Square on the 7th July, where all their art-works, films and products were exhibited, and included a fantastic cat-walk experience from the Eco-Chic team, who modeled their own fashion creations.

Creative Pathways 2009 successfully graduated twenty-one 14-19 year old young people. Several of the young people on the program have now progressed into further training programs, including our Eco – Interiors Enterprise project, or are entering the job market or returning to further education.
