Fab Pad is an Interior Design programme. Our longest-running project operates throughout Glasgow, East and West Dunbartonshire and in Edinburgh, Stirling, and the Borders. The programme is for 16-34 yr olds and provides a chance for young people in their first tenancy or at risk of homelessness to personalise their home and make it their own.
The programme runs for 6-12 months during which time participants attend local weekly workshops with professional interior designers to develop their ideas, plan design and create their space. Activities include personal design consultation, shopping and inspiration trips, whilst meeting other young people in the same situation as themselves.
Participants are also provided with help to improve their employability and encouraged to take positive steps to secure training, education or employment and to become more active citizens.
Over 90% of participants sustain their tenancy for 12 months or more. Many of those who take part in Fab Pad progress onto other opportunities.
Participants receive travel expenses and a budget of £100 to spend on their home. Referrals are taken at any time.
