Public art and regeneration
Impact Arts has a history of working in communities situated within areas of regeneration. This work is vital in helping members of the community cope with unsettling changes imposed on them and to give them some form of ownership and responsibility for their new homes and neighbourhoods, as well as a vision of how their community will look and develop over the coming years.
Our work in community consultation though schools, youth groups and community centres ranges from visual arts workshops, interpretation programmes, reminiscence sessions, to public exhibition. It frequently results in a piece of public art which marks specific change for a community, enhances the look of area, and symbolises the collective thoughts and mood of the time.
Arts Master-planning is one of the specialist consultative services that we offer. We are currently involved in regeneration programmes within the Hillhead area of Kirkintilloch, the Vineburgh area of Irvine and in Castlemilk in Glasgow.
